Andy Crapol

You’ll Never Walk Alone

Welcome to AndyCrapol.com. This website was built in honor of our brother and friend, Andy Crapol, who passed away on March 13 2009 after a battle with esophageal cancer. One of Andy's favorite past times was congregating with his close friends and family, and so we expect this place to grow and evolve as the memory of Andy grows stronger with time. Please enjoy and have a wonderful day. Thank you.

Inaugural Crapol Award and the Crapol Scholarship

Crapol Award
The 2009-2010 winner of the William & Mary men’s soccer team’s Crapol Award is Preston Whitlock of Stafford, Virginia.

In May, Preston received his B.S. degree in neuroscience. A walk-on senior on the W&M team, Preston received minimal playing time. However, in the words of Coach Chris Norris, “Preston Whitlock is a tremendous young man who embodies everything good about college athletics. He was the ultimate teammate. Despite his consistent hard work not often translating into game experience, his influence was critical to the success of our teams”. Preston did score in the one game he played in, against the University of Richmond.

Crapol Scholarship
The first recipient of the Andrew E. Crapol Soccer Scholarship is Michael DiNuzzo of Woodbridge, Virginia.

Going into his senior season this fall, Michael has been a three year starter for the Tribe. He was also elected as one of the co-captains for W&M men’s soccer this fall. Coach Norris say: “Michael DiNuzzo is a warrior who has consistently proved doubters wrong. A modestly heralded recruit, Mike’s determination and commitment has seen him start every game since his arrival in Williamsburg. He is arguably the most respected player on the team and that respect has earned him the captaincy in his senior year.”

These two outstanding young men represent well the spirit of Andy Crapol in the W&M men’s soccer program.
